IF YOU RIDE THE SCHOOL BUS . . . .

Student safety on the bus is a priority!



YES, there are rules for riding the bus for all to follow!


1. Remain in your seat until the bus has arrived at YOUR driveway (do not get up and walk around or switch seats).



2. Be polite and courteous to everyone.



3. Listen to the driver when you are spoken to.



4. No food or drinks allowed to be eaten on the bus.



5. Do not throw anything out the windows.

Welcome to December at JCH!!!

It's getting cold outside! Make sure you are dressed for the weather. Everyday we have 20 minutes outside in the morning and afternoon.


Students needs to wear shoes all day - just in case we have a fire alarm and need to exit the building quickly!


Snow is on the way! Making or throwing snowballs will result in a one day suspension.




Things to REMEMBER

• NO Cellphone use during school time!



• I-pods can ONLY be used during Nutrition and Activity time!



• If taken away, your parent must come and pick up your cellphones and I-pods!

I can't believe it's November already!!!
A little late, but Welcome Back Everyone!!!

We are off to another great year at JCHill. A lot of events have already taken place and students have received their progress reports. Parents, if you have not seen the progress report yet, please call your child's teacher. If you did not book an appointment on interview day, the teacher will contact you regarding the progress report and your child's success.

Thanks to all who support our Toy Bingo!

Students had the opportunity to visit secondary schools on November 2 - BCI, PJ, McKinnon.

We just finished 6 weeks of after-school Zumba!!! Staff and students had a fantastic time moving to the music! Watch for Zumba in the new year!

This happening in November:

November 14 - 18 - National Anti-bullying Week - activities happening all week long

Every Monday - PALS for grade 7 students
Every Friday - PALS for grade 8 students

November 11 - all staff and students will be walking to the Cenataph Remembrance Day Ceremony - Hot lunch is corn soup, ham & scone
November 16 - Volleyball Tournment at ILTO; girls in am; boys in pm
November 17 - Picture retake day
November 18 - Crazy Hat Day & Volleyball with students & staff
November 21 - Flu Clinic at JCH
November 21 - JCH Student Recognition Assembly
November 22 - Education Week - all students will attend afternoon activities at the Community Hall
November 23 - Health Promotions after school activity - Not One More - permission required
November 25 - P. D. Day
December 1 - SKATE-A-THON at the Arena in the afternoon - start collecting your pledge dollars now! More informaton will follow!

Remember, it's COLD out there! Come to school dressed for the weather!

Transportation provided
Camp is Free of Charge
Bring your positive, respectful attitude!

If you require medications, you must bring them with you.

Information and reminders on what to bring will be reviewed with students on Thursday!

If you CAN NOT attend, please let Mrs. Noyes know as soon as possible!

WOW! What a week!

What a busy week! Sometimes it feels like the universe is spinning around us!

Students at J. C. Hill have been participating in great trip activities!

Monday, May 2 - 26 students went to Skills Canada in Kitchener; Intermediate Lacrosse Tournament at the ILA. Congratulations to JCH students for their great sportsmanship!

Tuesday, May 3 - Shadow Day for all grade 8 students to visit their high school

Wednesday, May 4 - Grade 7 students went to Tollgate for a tour, lunch and a lacrosse game

Thursday, May 5 - 9 grade 8 girls attended the Gr8Design for Gr8Girls at McMaster's Engineering Department. Thanks to Six Nations Police for the use of their van!

Friday, May 6, Track and Field at JCH!

Hope everyone had a great March Break! Please make note of the upcoming events! Tuesday, March 29 - all students at the community hall for Youth Forum Day. Permission forms are NOW due!

Thursday, March 31 - NATIONAL ABORIGINAL LANGUAGES DAY - student will enjoy guest speakers, Word Wack and BINGO! There will be a hot treat of corn soup for all! For more information go to Assembly of First Nations www.afn.ca


Monday, April 4 - J. C. Hill Science Fair - all students in both grades 7 & 8 must complete a science fair project. Grade 8 should have completed their projects over the Christmas Holidays!

Welcome to 2011! There are a lot of interesting things to do and learn at J. C. Hill. Teachers are busy working on report cards that will be coming home to you on February 9, 2011. Talk to your child and find out how they are doing at school. If you have questions, please call the school and speak to your child's teachers about their daily activities. We welcome those calls from parents!
